Clayton Davis

Clayton Davis is the Chief Awards Editor at Variety, where he has been a leading voice in awards forecasting since joining the esteemed Hollywood publication in September 2020. Beyond predicting the Oscars, Emmys, and other major ceremonies, Davis is a two-time Emmy-nominated host of PBS' Variety Studio: Actors on Actors and co-host of the award-winning Variety Awards Circuit Podcast. An acclaimed journalist, Davis was honored with the Excellence in Entertainment Journalism Award by NALIP in 2021 and has been recognized as one of the Imagen Foundation’s Influential Latinos in Media in 2022, 2023, and 2024. His work in programming and executive production earned him a 2022 Telly Award for the Critics Choice's Celebration of Latino Cinema & Television and a Webby Award in the General Video category for events and live streams as a host for Variety’s Power of Women 2022. Additionally, he has been nominated for multiple journalism accolades, including twice for Online Journalist of the Year by the L.A. Press Club. With over 20 years of experience as an analyst, media commentator, and film and television critic, Davis has been featured across various publications and platforms. Since 2020, he has contributed to ABC’s Live Oscars Pre-Show. He also serves as a board member of the Critics Choice Association, where he co-programs the Celebration of Latino Cinema. He is an active member of the Television Academy, BAFTA, and other industry organizations and founded the Latino Entertainment Journalists Association.
